what is summer without full-on sun flowers? … and even better when framed by a vintage blue sky and the still-green jura in france.
however … here’s a song inspired by a trip through some other mountains, the haute alpes de provence, where there is an amazing rock formation called the penitents of mées. wikipedia photos don’t do it justice, as the best view of the rocks is actually to be had from a far away stretch of motorway. myth has that some bad bad bad (sic) dudes, some monks actually, took advantage of some unfortunate slave girls are were duly punished by being petrified, literally. a good story, but it reminded me that we all skeletons of sorts somewhere in the cupboard that keep us awake at night.
